Mural painters wanted for a special school.
The local school in Lakkos is different to most public schools. Over the last couple of years they have been taking in refugee kids from Syria and Palestine. They are also a school that accepts the local Roma (gypsy kids). For these reasons the Lakkos project wants to help the school to find artist who would like to make murals inside and outside of the school.
Most of the walls are big so some previous experience would be handy. Most likely there will be a theme based around multiculturalism. If this is an interest please mention it in your application.
'The Lakkos Project'
An ongoing project, which aims to bring life to a forgotten part of Heraklion's large old city.
The truly beautiful village of Ano Assites has asked the Lakkos project to help them get people to visit the village. We will be doing murals and all kinds of artistic interventions there.
The second event we held in the village was a live painting one. Silsil from Japan painted while a local played experimental music next the the village square. After the live painting there was a play put on by the locals. Guest artists 2019
